Permaculture is Important Human Upgrade

It represents integration of nature’s principles in natural creation and sustainability. Today consuming our food production in a way that it is growing, we see destruction of resources, pollution and disruption of rural communities.

The main reason for this is the overgrowing industrial agriculture takeover of the resources available for natural development of soil and land.

What do we have?

Permaculture begins with the question: what do we have? We start with the things that are completely natural. It begins from the ground and ends into our plates. Taking care of our food system can help heal the food issues we face today. It is just living in a manner that is more sustainable. Permaculture means observing nature at work! Humidity, oxygen and nutrition in cyclic balance shared by plants without any waste.

Creating natural cycles

Every plant, every animal, try observe the processes and nature will work for you. Permaculture principles are based on natural ecosystems. First principle as we can see in nature there is no waste. Second thing is the biodiversity around us. We have lots of different animals, plants, insects and microorganisms that create our natural world. This is due to the fact that nature has evolved to the point that uses every energy available in everything. All these different beings play a role in keeping the environment healthy. Diversity helps natural systems to be more robust, flexible and resilient to pests and diseases. Obtaining a yield for obtaining our energy in working and growing represents the third basic principle in permaculture.

Planing and nurturing

We plan a landscape in terms of zones. We start looking at the centers of energy. For example, the house and around the house is the main human activity. This area has the most activity and the most physical use. We place the elements here that have great value and a great care of management. The second zone is the next zone out, which is larger and contains less elements. This area does not require as much frequent care as the first zone, but here we have food forests. In the third zone we have large farm type systems rich with animals, water dams or ponds. The fourth zone is used for forestry filled with big trees and large forest systems rich with animals and birds. The last zone is the wild natural system and we do very little in this zone. We also need to take in consideration the slope and the orientation. Every zone takes a shape according to the stiffness of the land and the sun orientation. And as a human element interacting with all these elements we change the shapes of the zones. It is an energy efficient planning taking in quantity the visits we are going to make to that element, and this measure will give us an idea to where it fits in the zone. After that we see which element fits together, so they can interact together.

Start implementing

We can apply all these principles in everything we do in our lives, not just our gardens. If we can understand the ways of nature we can create cities, villages and fertile lands rich with food. We can design our food supplies in very natural and organic way using nature’s laws and start implementing these methods by making the public parks and our yards into sustainable food growing gardens.
